Meet the Baytown Team Behind Vance Gate Repair Baytown
Every gate we touch in Baytown has a person behind it, and we think you should know who that person is before they pull into your driveway. Our crew has worked on thousands of gates across the Houston ship channel corridor and the neighborhoods around it, from old swing gates in Wooster to steel drive gates off Garth Road. What unites us isn’t a uniform. It’s the habit Adrian built into the company back in 2014: name the problem, name the price, write it down, and fix it right the first time. The people below are the ones who actually do that work.
Our People
Marcus T. - Lead Technician
Marcus has been with Vance since 2016, and before that he spent six years doing commercial access control installs across southeast Texas. He’s the guy we send when a gate motor isn’t just broken but behaving strangely, the kind of intermittent failure that takes a voltmeter and patience to chase down. Marcus is certified on LiftMaster, FAAC, and DoorKing systems, and he keeps the wiring diagrams from every job he’s ever touched in a binder in the truck. He once traced a dead opener back to a single corroded terminal block in a junction box that two other companies had missed. He’s quiet until you ask him about his fishing boat, at which point he will tell you exactly where the redfish are running on any given week.
Lena R. - Senior Installer
Lena has been setting gates since 2014, and she handles most of our full installations and heavy fabrication jobs in and around Baytown. She came up through ornamental iron work, so she welds, hangs, and levels a new steel gate the way a finish carpenter hangs a door. Her specialty is the alignment work that most installers skip: hinges shimmed to the exact degree, posts set with enough concrete to hold against Baytown’s clay soil, and gate travel that doesn’t drift after a season of rain and dry heat. Lena is the reason our installs don’t sag after two years. She also keeps a running list of the best breakfast tacos within ten minutes of any job site, and her recommendations have never been wrong.
Rosa M. - Service Coordinator
Rosa is the voice you hear when you call Vance at 2 a.m. or 2 p.m., because a live person picks up every time. She’s been running our dispatch and scheduling since 2018, and she knows enough about gates to triage a call properly: a gate that won’t open is a motor problem, a gate that opens by itself is a limit switch or a photo-eye, a gate that opened fine yesterday and won’t budge this morning might be a dead battery in the backup system. She gets your address, confirms a window, and sends you the name and photo of the technician before they roll out. When a technician leaves your property, Rosa files the photo log and the written job record so it’s there if you call back in eight months about the same gate. She answers the phone herself, no menu, no callback queue, never a voicemail.
Diego F. - Apprentice Technician
Diego joined us in 2023 after finishing a welding program, and he’s been learning the trade the way Adrian learned it: on the service call, not the showroom floor. He rides with Marcus or Lena every day, hauling gear, pre-drilling post holes, running the photo documentation on each visit, and gradually taking over motor diagnostics under supervision. His weld beads are already cleaner than a lot of guys with five years in the field. Diego grew up in Baytown and has strong opinions about Baytown Little League, where he coaches on weekends. He’s the newest member of the crew, which means he still thinks every gate failure is interesting. That wears off eventually, but for now it keeps the rest of us honest.
One Standard, Every Job

The rule that runs through this crew is simple and it has never changed since 2014: every job gets a written price before any work begins, and a documented photo record before any technician leaves. No exceptions, no matter how small the call, no matter which technician shows up. The Haven Standard applies to every gate we touch in Baytown, from a broken chain link in a residential swing gate to a full commercial slide gate operator replacement. If a hinge bearing is replaced at 9 a.m., you see a picture of the old one and the new one. If a motor’s programmed travel limit is off by four inches, you get the before and after settings in writing. And every repair carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise, which means if the gate misbehaves again within a year for the same reason, Vance comes back and makes it right at no charge. Adrian set that standard when the company was just one truck and a tool bag. It still holds now that nine brands of automation equipment roll through our service queue, and it’s the reason the techs above wear the same shirt and the same expectation: fix the gate, document the work, charge what was quoted.
